No they don't place you in an apartment with another person. If your not married you can go to path due to your a family. It depends on what shelter they send you to with your child. All salvation army shelters have families of single females share apartment with another female with children. You each have your own room yet the kitchen and bathroom is shared amongst the family. I lived in a salvation army shelter for a while until I moved to a better shelter with my teen-age children
