Unfortunately no swimming allowed. People often fish off the pier.

The river has quite a currant and there's no swimming allowed.

Swimming is not permitted. Plenty of reasons it's not a good idea, like the relatively sizeable waves kicked up by the wind and proximity to a freshwater tributary where alligators are regularly spotted. The fact is, that it's got nothing to do with the current of the river nor people fishing nearby. The reason why swimming is not permitted is a nearly perpetual toxic algae bloom.
