No. The moat was rarely flooded even in its own time. Records show it was used for livestock and you can clearly see a shot furnace that was built in the moat for heating canon balls. These details and more clearly indicate flooding was a last resort option that was never needed.

No but it did look soggy on the north side of the fort.

No the moat was placed as a barrier but not for water. When the society of St Augustine added water it caused a crack in the structure.

No water in the moat. They say it's more historically accurate since the moat area was mostly used for livestock.
