The best way to actually speak to someone to make an appointment is to Google your local social security office to obtain their direct number rather than going through the nationwide call center. When you do call, be patient and wait out all the hold music and phone ringing; eventually someone will answer your call.
As far as I know you just call You can go there but I'd be there at 8am or even earlier because people start lining up early They open up at 9 I got there at 8am and had probably 20 people a head of me but the wait once you get inside isn't bad at all we waited around 15-20 minutes is all.
