You're son/daughter just needs to contact TROSA and do a phone interview then will be asked to write a short 2-5 page (or more if they like) autobiography with brief family history and just kinda what led to where they're at and are they ready to make a change for the better. They should make their lawyer aware of what they are doing and if/when they pass the admission to the program then they should notify they're lawyer that they have been accepted into the program at which time his/her lawyer can ask the judge for their release directly into custody of TROSA with a REQUIRED COMMITMENT under court order to complete 2 years in the program. Someone from TROSA will likely be in touch with his/her lawyer to assist in the transition into the program as well as their current legal matters. (This is for people in county jail, not sure if people from prison? I know you will NOT be admitted if you have an arson or sex related charge) Hope this helps, I'm in the process of going myself :)
