There needs to be a better mouse trap figured out here. With all warehouse deliveries places not just this one. If a trailer arrives sealed & a receiver verifies it. Any discrepancies need to be taken up with the shipper/broker. Not waste the drivers valuable time. If lumpers/receivers can't be trusted then a certification process across the board needs to be set in place for receiving warehouses. HD security video feeds need to be place of all unloading of products so insurance adjusters can review if needed. In the event of items never shipped the receiver can notate the BOL & get compensated by shipper. If the shipper is confident he did ship something he can file claim with his insurance co. which can review the videos. If the loss happens in transport that's when the trucking cargo insurance kicks in. A system like this would help everyone. Especially drivers ELD mandates. Holding up a truck at warehouse A screws warehouse B, C & D. You could be A today but be BCD tomorrow.
I Deliver to C&S in Chester. NY. every week . and I think they do a great job. there are times when they are slow. but you also have to look at. the time it takes to unload. then check the temperature. then count it to make sure it's all there. then break it down and separate it just to make sure the count is right. and then you get the B.O. L.s. I'll deliver there again.
It's not the lumping and receiving service that you're waiting for its all the paperwork to be done and the count of the product to be finished the warehouse Personnel does a superb job very efficient and quick
