I am trying to help a student who is a citizen, father is not. Parents are divorced. Father stole the SS card of son. Now son wants a job but his SS# has been compromised. How do I help him?

Police report and ssa.gov should help.

He needs to file a police report and take a copy to the SSA. They will determine if he needs a new SSN or have a frad reporting placed on his current SSN.
