I wouldn’t say so. Patients are made to publicly talk about all their issues and concerns in front of all staff and patients. I know people on the spectrum struggle to open up outside of a 1 on 1 setting.
Yes, FCFR is an appropriate place for a teen with autism, we have had and still maintain an adolescent census that includes teens that are diagnosed with ASD, however, our ability to meet the treatment needs while practicing an appropriately comprehensive therapeutic approach is generally assimilated to extensive medical and psychiatric records of diagnosis and behavioral presentation. This is the same scrutiny that is applied to peoples suffering from other psychiatric and medical conditions, before our Psychiatrist and Medical Director, Dr. Robert Moran will approve any patient to admit with us. Essentially, most patients with ASD do qualify except in extreme cases in which the demands for ASD-specific procedures and techniques overburden the functionality in our ability to treat the patient using our intact treatment modalities.
Absolutely not for people with Autism or the spectrum . Their self esteem will go really low on this center .
