Absolutely NOT! In CLT you must exit the building completely and go outside if you wish to smoke. They do have signs outside where smoking is allowed-usually at the end of the sidewalk. Keep in mind that if you leave the airport you will have to go through security again no matter where you are going. Very few airports let you smoke anymore; the only one I can think of right now is Tampa. Good luck!

If you're unable to find a place to sneak a drag in the airport, you can usually catch a smoke in the airplane lavatory, you'll just need to disable the smoke detector first.

Just like almost all airports you will have to go to a designated area outside then you will have to go through security. So make sure its not busy before you go outside
