What about the lot rent. We want to move up there from southern California but will be retired. Can you afford the space rent there on retirement income?

Coming from So. Cal you probably won't have an issue with the space rent, but my relative there is frustrated by the annual increases that come without any improvements to park amenities or what is provided. Maybe those increases are typical to these 55 and up communities, I'm not sure. Space rent varies by space size and location in the park but some are approaching $900/month plus utilities and the mortgage if they will have one.

Lot rent is alot 925 a month. And they do nothing to improve the place! If you pay cash on your home you will be fine. Good luck!
