Why does it cost so much to fly from Gainesville to Charlotte??? When I fly to NC I usually have to layover in Charlotte so why do I have to layover in Atlanta when I want to go to Charlotte???.

Different airlines. Delta's hub is in ATL. All flights out of Gainesville through Delta have to stop in ATL. American Airlines, however, has a two hubs now one in Miami and another in Charlotte, so depending on the flight you do layover at one or the other.

Linda: The pricing of tickets is determined completely by the airlines. Prices are based upon the number of travelers on an aircraft and the cost of operating the aircraft. Airlines offer different fare (price) levels on each aircraft/flight. On average, the lowest fares include 10% of the total seats available on an aircraft. As the rates are determined by the individual airlines and are subject to change, please contact the airline or a local travel agent for fares. American Airlines offers non-stop flights to Charlotte from GNV. They can be reached at 800-433-7300. Delta offers connecting flights to Charlotte through Atlanta or Miami. They can be reached at 800-221-1212. Thank you for Flying GNV!
