Time of day is important to keep in mind. Most flights are full. Check with the airline, and of course TSA could start more thoural screenings at any point. Once cleared to fly in G ville you have access to boarding in major air ports.
I travel frequently and have seen many times when the gate agent will call and wait for passengers going through security. It's very small and friendly airport. I'd say no more than one hour prior to boarding.
An hour before boarding or hour and half before departure is typically enough time. It really depends in time of day and day of the week as well, like Monday mornings are busier than Wednesdays as a norm. Also depends on if your checking bags and what airline your using.
