So Google says you close at 5PM on Thursday... The sign on your door says you close at 5PM on Thursday... But I get there at 4:30 PM and was told it closed early. What is this about? I had to leave work early to try and make it on time for nothing.

It's not how was before, you can plan 30 min before the close, you can go 4 and pray they can take you. All dmv has occupancy limit, if they reach that limit they stop taking walk ins, appointment only. But dmv service taking people who made appointments year a go. It's no way you can make appointment now.
