I'm not 100% sure but I don't believe you can't swim there, you can bring your dog, they even have a special area of the park for the dog, but you can go anywhere with the dog. I believe the admissions is free right now.
Can't swim, I've seen dogs retrieve in and out of water. There's a dog park in there, too. Free on weekdays. I think$5 per Marylander
There are signs everywhere that day no swimming and no going in the water. With that said, people do swim and go in all the time.
All the signs say no swimming or wading. Many families do it, though the lake gets deep quickly so I can see why the authorities advise against going in.
