Amazing place! Thank you to all the friendly club members who taught my son how to fly the RC plane this summer.

The best quality model airpark in the state of Maryland! The space is very large, there are 2 flying fields, one larger field for airplanes and one smaller field for helicopters and drones, the airplane field has a paved runway 600 feet long, the road and parking lot are both completely paved, the small field has a small helipad, club meetings and events are held in a large pavilion, at the far end of the parking lot, between the 2 fields, club supplies are stored in 2 sheds, called hangars, and a new, larger shed has recently been added, to be used for meetings and events. The model airpark is used by DC-RC, the DC Radio Control Club, an RC flying club affiliated with the AMA, or the Academy of Model Aeronautics, and is a Gold Leader club, for all the safety precautions and actions the club has taken to ensure the safety of each other. The field is maintained very well and has many convenient features that make flying there easier and more fun.

Questions & Answers

Since this is publicly owned land, is membership in DCRC required to fly there?

There is a membership yes. But im pretty sure you can contact them and you will be allowed to go to check it out on a trial basis.

I ride my horse in the woods past your facI pity. I try to figure out the different sounds to what type of flying machine they belong to. Do you have something like an obstacle course-Yellow arches-those planes make a very unusual sound.
