I am a 100% Veteran. I live in Kansas now, but my son lives in Sunnyvale, CA., and would have me to move nearer to him. I am giving up my home at 77 yrs., and need to have a safe and pleasant environment. do I have to be a resident of California?

This is "permanent supportive housing." You need to be a low-income vet that has a HUD-Vash or is currently or in danger of becoming homeless. They are opening 50 new units in May-June, but you'll need to apply now. Also note that Sunnyvale is an 8-9 hour drive.
