We drove there in a rented golf cart. The map that the rental place gives you to drive around the island takes you right by there.
Use Catalina island bus it will drop you off at the entrance some of the bus drivers will tell you cool history of the island
You can walk if you're so ambitious. Otherwise, the local bus route runs right to it. There are several bus stops in town. The times however are very very wrong. The first time i tried to go the bus schedule had shown something like 9:02 and the following bus at 9:19. At 9:11 assuming we missed the first one we went to grab water in the shop across the road. Came back at 9:14 assuming we will had 5 more minutes to see the bus driving away. So. Good luck!

Definitely walk it if you enjoy walking. It's a decent trek up hill. The buses are available if needed but hard to catch like others pointed out. Fastest, easiest and most fun are the golf carts though. Then you don't need to walk anywhere while you have them rented!
