Hotel Avalon is the closest nice hotel
Wait, you can be a VIP for 500.00? Hold on to your money. You can have a great time for the price of grandstand seat. There is a lot to see and do at the track and a lot of it is free. If you want to be a real VIP, then I suggest you start meeting and talking to sponsors and manufacturers that are in a position to give you real VIP credentials. There are plenty of hotels that have a view of Kansas Speedway. Great Wolf Lodge is one of them and they run shuttles back and forth all weekend long. StubHub is a great place to buy tickets from season ticket holders that, for some reason or another, cannot make it to a particular race.
Any of the packages sold to the best of my knowledge are an atom you always need a ticket for the grandstand for the race itself. I would agree with what others have said here in as much as I would not spend a lot of money on a VIP package especially if it is a track that I have not been to before. If you do buy something extra make sure you read the fine print very carefully for example there is a huge difference between a pit to pass and a garage pass on race day many fans think that they will get in the garages only to be disappointed at the last moment.
I would say to contact ticket holders at Ks speedway to find out for sure...I'm not quite sure..
Got to have ticket for race I believe
