I used to overlook the fact that Strasser has a poor selection and high prices because it is conveniently located to my wood shop, but I won't be returning. Here's why: There was a long line of customers and just one register open. An employee, begrudgingly, opened up a register behind the customer service counter to assist. I approached her and said "Thank you!". No reply. She didn't say a word to me during the entire transaction, and then, she walked away from the register the moment that I removed my card from the machine. She didn't even offer me a receipt... I managed retail stores when I was younger... I give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but this employee was just a straight up jerk.

It's the best hardware store in KC in my opinion they have pretty much everything. Tools, tool accessories, hardware, plumbing and free popcorn with purchase. Will always go there when I need stuff even if it wasn't on my way home 😁. The staff are friendly and helpful and it's a truly family owned and operated store.
