It's best to park at Universal City and take the Red Line to Hollywood and Vine. Parking is significantly cheaper and the ride takes 10 minutes.

There's a parking structure on selma on vine if you need a longer stay. Few areas when it comes to street parking

It's currently $1.75 for a one way pass. Daily passes are a little over $5.99. But keep in mind that the $1.75 only applies if you already have a "Tap" card. If you don't there is a one time fee to get one of the reloadable cards. The cost of the card plus the one way trip is a little over $3.00. You get, and reload, the card at one of the electronic kiosks located right before you answer the subway platform.
