The park is a nice place to visit even though there are many homeless with tents. There are many shops like Home Depot, Food 4 Leass, Rite Aid, and free-market shopping at the various strip malls. There is fast food like McDonald's, Carl's Jr, Starbucks, Burger King. There are 4 Seven Eleven,. All major banks, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Chase. There are 2 24 hour Laundry Mats and various ones open during business hours. Access to many Lime, Bird, and Lyft Scooters. You also have the Metro train station and access to the 20,18, and 16 bus lines which operate 24 hours. Its not a bad hub to be in. You also have the Rampart police station. Mostly a Latino urban area with the average rent of about 1300/month, access downtown, and Koreatown within minutes. The downsides are it can be noisy, there is trash everywhere, many homeless, and don't leave your valuables unattended, they tend to get taken if you do so.

This is a high traffic station serving two train lines. It gets crowded and this is a rougher part of LA so there's usually something 'interesting' going on. There's usually a high police presence inside and out and most days vendors are spread out all around selling everything from clothes to crystals to electriconics. This was one of the top rated Metro Stations in terms of social equity. It's most definitely not the prettiest though.

This station is located in one of the poorest neighborhoods compared to the station before and after it. The entrance has street vendors selling stuff. The station may be safe but because of all the vendors and homeless people, it doesn't appear that safe especially for women.

I'm always through here. I love it, but also I reflect back to the time where I lived here. In 2016 I was homeless living out of a tent. It was rough, but there were numerous outreach ministries that came to the park to help those in need. Vendors in the area for the most part are generous and although it can be a dangerous place at night, police patrols are fairly frequent. There's free events with music in the summer at the Amphitheater and there's always someone selling snacks close by. I also like to sit and view the pond. The downsides just come with the territory, they don't bother me that much.
