You would need to talk to your primary doctor or the specialist doctor depending who would be prescribing it to you. The VA would want you to try ALL of the formulary medications first to rule them out. Then the doctor puts in a request to the pharmacy for an override to get the medicine that you want... As long as you tell the doctor that you're not getting the right results or bad reactions for each of the formulary drugs, the VA should be able to oblige your request! I've had to do that twice for medications I needed, and now I get the non-formulary medications on a regular schedule. So, good luck and persevere!
