Nope all wrong You get there wait in line and wait for the rangers to show up, before the park entry and you park your veichel on the dirt
You get there on a Sunday and look for an empty space without a paper the lots have a clipboard look at the days rented. Some people with a rented space leave that same day so ask if you could take the spot. Then you wait for the Ranger he comes in a golf cart and then you rent. There's also a paying station although I'm not sure that . Make sure the lot you select is empty before paying at the station...that's an alternative to the ranger. But I would recommend to wait for the Ranger.
Never reserved a spot a the lake area just at the campsite.. Sorry
