Yes you can but remember the tickets sold at Costco isually say something like Silver, Gold, ...what have you so your usage at the theater would depend on that....3D or IMAX would most probably be an upcharge.
Yes i have used it, but i think that they take a little bit of extra cash along with the tickets.
