I've been going up into the hills for years, haven't seen any snakes. The boulders next to the zig zag trail are a good place for snakes, so it's a possibility.
Definitely not a big population. There have been a very small number of rattlesnake encounters in the mountains next to the park, but it definitely isn't an issue in the park, and it shouldn't be a huge safety concern.
No immediate threats in the park itself, but there are warnings as you head up into the hills
