Id take the countertop and your debit card to the return counter and explain what is going on. They should be able to look up your purchase by your debit card number. I have done this before there. They should gladly exchange the top for the one you need.
If you used a credit card to purchase that store will have the record. If it was a stock item no problem on a return, If it was a special order or cut then it may be up to store to exchange
