You have to be on a tour... ernies cemetery tour was worth every penny....found on groupon.
You have to be with a licensed tour guide inside St. Louis #1, due to past vandalism of the oldest active cemetery. At the gate it is $20/person, but you can also book a tour through a tour company. No exceptions, you must be with a tour guide.
The tour is worth the money.
It is worth the $20 and if you get the young lady we had, she will tell you stories that are worth the $20 admission fee. These are stories that enhance the experience in a cemetery tour, otherwise, you are just walking through a cemetery looking at headstones of all the people you do not know...no fun in that. It is more interesting hearing about the lives of people buried and yet to be buried at St. Louis Cemetery No. 1. A famous actor, an alledged sorcer, people of distinction, and not so distinguished. Where can you get $20 of theater in the middle of the day in New Orleans, Louisana?
They will charge you 20 dollars at the gate. If i could do it again i would have paid the extra 5 dollars for a higher rated tour guide
$20 for cemetery#2 the other 2 are free
