Why would you close all Lowes corp offices with paid time off to protect the workers but leave the stores open. You only want to protect certain workers? The hard working employees at the stores don't need to be home with families?

Though I am not representative of lowes any longer I will take a shot at this. A store like Lowes is absolutely vital to the communities. The customer service calls can wait. Parts to rebuild homes and communities cannot. If this disaster does hit these places as hard as projected, tools, wood, plywood, plumbing, electrical components are going to be absolutely vital. The store must be there to provide these things. A call center lr corporate office can wait.
