If you are staying at the campground you can walk right out off the end of the campground or multiple places all along the shore line. You can also hike up the railroad tracks, watching out for trains, to multiple grat areas up stream.
The Hiwassee River is stocked with trout throughout the year from the Appalachian power house all the way down to the hwy 411 Bridge. Thair are trails and an access road along the river that provide opportunities to fish..wade fishing is excellent.but be aware that the water levels change depending on water release at the power house.thair is a catch and release season on some parts of the river.please check the TWRA regulations, and the TVA water release schedule to be safe.
The outfitters is not a fishing spot. It is a white water and tubing rental facility.
