You will need to bring something to support your target. Its clean and feels safe there. Go early in the day and you will probably have the place to yourself. It's a very pretty drive to get there and there are some nice places to cool off in the creek.

Great little range if you come prepared. There are no amenities such as target holders etc. you have to remember everything you need.

It has tremendous unrealized potential. You need to bring your own target holders and it gets kind of junked up from users leaving their trash laying around sometimes. Otherwise a decent and affordable place to safely shoot.

Needs LOTS of work, and maybe a little more supervision of the site. While we were cleaning up our shells a gentleman did show up to sweep up "some" of the shells left by others who did not but the range was trashed. This was our first time so I cannot judge it from past experiences but it was terrible. It is posted that a $3 fee is required but not one of the 5 other vehicles left money. If they had it probably would have been stolen from the homeless guy living in the woods that was stalking the place as there was not a lock on the box. It also says nothing but paper targets...but there were plastic bottles and jugs, aluminum cans and general trash left on the range lanes. So much so it made it hard to walk to place our targets. IF, BIG IF, we return we will bring a rake and our target stand. Also, be warned, the road is very rugged and at points it is only wide enough for one vehicle.

Is this range like prentice cooper? We dont have have a hunting and fishing license, from my understanding you must have a tier 1 permit to shoot at cooper. Which we drove a long way not to be able to shoot. Is this the same here? the the

Nope I've gone here several times and have never had a problem. It doesn't state on their site that you need that. That is usually wildlife areas in Tennessee not North Carolina

Wha are the hours and distance of the range?

I'm thinking it's from dusk till dawn, the hand gun is about 20 to 30 yards and the rifle is 100 yds.
