Hello, the steps I took to renew my passport were the following: 1. Make an appointment by phone (I went without an appointment and they did not let me get into the building) make sure to call and register with the secretary, they only have a single phone number and it is always busy or they never answer it, insist and keep calling Until you attend without an appointment do not go. 2. requirements: no birth certificate (I already had one with me that I had taken there in the DR), your cedula (valid), your passport, and a fee ($ 130 normal process takes 5 weeks and $ 210 quick process a week) them They only accept payment in cash (I did not know and I had to go to a cashier to look for money). 3. Around 2years ago I called many times and no one answered the phone. Hope this time I'll be more lucky with this consulado since the election is around the corner. I intending to get my cedula and I wonder what how much is it. By the way I don't have nothing personal against this place just believe we as Dominican Dominican deserve better service. Reading the comments you have left here, what will be the best way to get personal documents? Apparently they do not make appointments online, they do not answer the phone, or there is no way to leave messages for them to return a call. You can't go to the building without appointments otherwise they won't let you in. Does anybody have any suggestions? I wonder if the Minister of Foreign Affairs (I think that's what it's called) knows about this lack of services or what is happening in this office of the lack of attention to the citizen and non-citizen of the DR. It will go to Miami or New York to get the documents.
