I have been trying to get an appointment to apply for MX residency and the calendar is not available at all this year. Does anyone think I should just show up and try and make one in person? Thank you!

I found that appointments appear on the schedule on Monday mornings, or very occasionally during the week.

Definitely not, you need to make an appointment, if you go to the Consulate without an appointment you will be dismissed. If there are no appointments, try every week
