@latonia exactly!!! Im in long term recovery and have been "sectioned" in the past. Unfortunately research shows that coerced (being forced) into treatment doesnt work long term.....and forcing abstinence from opioids put people at a high risk of relapse/overdose/death. Check the facts. MAT, harm reduction, and community based supports are what are helping people to recover on their own timeline.

@katherine lmfao you just made my night . And to answer more appropriately? You can file a motion at court saying she’s a danger to herself or society . It’s called a section . If the judge approves they will find her given the locations you provide and hold her on a 72 hour hold at a hospital and evaluate her and deem wether they see it fit or not . Sometimes the persons are sent to a jail depending on availability unfortunately. But hopefully that helps .
