Why do the "local guides" say its so good? This is not good. The brisket was with no flavor. I am in Texas all the time, and Texas gas station brisket is better. The "local guides" need to get out more.

I'm a local guide and as one I can only speak to my experience not someone else's. I have ate at this local restaurant several times. Every time I have it's been friendly, the service was good, and the food was finger licken good at a reasonable price.

I too have had better, but tastes are subjective. I take the overall experience into consideration before recommending an establishment and food here was decent, though fairly high priced. They get extra points for the fact that mostly all the offerings are made from scratch and some, like the nachos, quite unique.

Jason, sorry you didn't like it. I've lived in Texas for years and the BBQ is good, but there's better out there, St Louis or Georgia BBQ for example. Just like mexican food in California I think is much better than TexMex. It's all subjective. Perhaps you ate there on a bad day. We tried several different plates and the food was good. It wasn't great, but it was good.

I guess everyone's tastes are different. I think we mostly like the food we grew up eating.
