It is a showroom. It's actually great so you can actually see and sit on a bike from Germany before buying. Direct to Consumer brands keep prices low that way for lower end builds. For instance, I wish YT had a showroom because I'm considering a Jeffsy along with the Canyon, but I'm more likely to drop dollar for dollar on a bike I have at least sat on. I believe you can demo them too but I showed up in flip flops and no helmet which is an insurance issue for them despite what other shops will let you do.
Our Showroom in Carlsbad, CA was designed to be a place where you can see a carefully curated selection of Canyon bicycles, including some that were formally ridden by our professional athletes. The Showroom is also a place where you can try some of our various models. The demo inventory fluctuates week-to-week, as these bikes also go out to different events across the country, but if you call ahead one of our associates can inform you of what is in stock. Furthermore, the Canyon Showroom is a place where the cycling community can come together and celebrate their passion for the sport. Check our Facebook page for a list of upcoming events including, but not limited to: group rides, pro talks, socials, etc. Hope to see you soon!
I love the idea of test riding for fit first then purchase. It can be very surprising to find out the model you never considered owning, is the one fit you the most. Looking forward to a road trip to this HQ hopefully the end of Summer.
Having been to the showroom, I can say it's a great place, and as the community forms it's only getting better.
No it doesn't suck, unless you are looking for a low end bike. Ideally you should test ride a mid to high end bike, then build to order your own according to specs that meet your needs and budget.
Its not actually a store its a plce where you can do a bike and get an advice, somehow you need to purchase online. Its suck right!
