Use to love it....but like everywhere else u get too busy & it becomes 2 difficult 2 be a one man operation & not lack somewhere-like customer service! Use 2 give the guy all that- sad to see its just who he is & u get what u get...I'll look closer to my home next time I need glasses...

I love this place. Our family has been coming here for 10 years and even though it’s on the other side of town, I will never go anywhere else. First of all: he’s a whiz. If there’s no line, he’ll have your glasses fixed in minutes. if there is a line, he gets through everyone fast. Second of all: he’s a super honest business person. All the prices are on the wall. They’re super reasonable. A great deal. Third: he’s a genuinely nice guy. He’s got a unique personality — not talkative, not big on eye contact — but he clearly loves what he does and cares about people. I even live in New York now and I wait until I come home to San Diego to get my glasses fixed so I can come here.

Joey was such a nice guy, the place was kinda packed, but got my glasses fixed in under half an hr. Great price also. So happy to know about it. Almost had to throw my glasses away.

This is my second visit. Honest, extremely honest and competent. Would not accept additional money for a lifetime guarantee on a repair. When I broke my glasses I went to a store in Las Vegas that wanted $65 to repair the frames for a three day wait. The main ploy was to try and sell me a new pair. I waiting until our return to San Diego. The initial cost for this repair for the first time I broke them was only $10 by this honest man. He fixed them in under 5 minutes same day. I was in and out in 10 minutes. Highly recommend!! I was referred here from UCSD Optical and that says something!

It depends on how deep the scratch is, and the lens material, and any lens coatings, best to stop by and ask. I've had a pair that was unrecoverable because it was an older high-index material that would just melt if polished, but I've had scratches on a newer pair polished out here, though it meant polishing away the anti-glare coating.
Yes
No on filling prescriptions. When I was there, the answer was no, from the person who does the repairs. A customer asked, response was no, & I suggested provide a recommended referral. There was no stock of new frames in the public area. They have some spare parts & frames in back, mainly for repairs. There are a few eyeglasses accessories like cases & eye shades for sale. The focus is repair, & possibly modifications.
Yes he will. The cost is $20 and the turn around is two to three days usually. As long as you.have the frames and your prescription. Hope this helps
Hot shots repairs eyewear. he does not make the lenses. I think he can remove scratches. Small shop one man. Excellent repair work. Very professional and reasonable prices. It's the only place I go to for eyewear repair. Go to website and request work desired.
In case he doesn't answer, he was open a couple of Saturdays ago until about 2:00. I don't know about his other hours but he definitely was open.
I don't believe you can take scratches out of lenses but he replaces lenses very very reasonably
I had a prescription filled here about 14 months ago. You need to buy the frames somewhere else and bring them in with your prescription. Hotshot then orders the lenses and usually has your glasses ready to go in two or three business days. Saved me about $200.
