Blue Origin also has a facility going up at Exploration Park, that's another 330 jobs with an average wage of $89,000.
As my opinion NASA its more than what people think. NASA its a state of the art world scientists discover center. I am glad that we as human race have come together as one and I only wish we as one race continues to do so for the faith of God people, The Human Race!
They were why our Holland America stops there. We took a cruise tour there. We purchased $50 at the gift shop, and ate at the burger diner, which was great by the way. The cruise ship buys fuel there, so do the big diesel tour bused. Then, bought some ice cream cones at another vendor. I,d guess with tour fee, lunch, treats, and gift shop purchases we spent about $200.00 that day. Plus, we,ll share with other Zonies how much we enjoyed it, and learned there. Awesome modern Americana.
The space center itself is a major tourist attraction and employs over 13000 people. About 1200-1300 are government employees, the rest are private contractors. I would imagine that number will go up with Boeing and Space-X developing vehicles for manned launches in the next 18-20 months.
Thousands of jobs are created for that Center for transportation products and Technology
They said during one of the tours that the space program was a large part of the economy around the area. I suppose you could ask one of the tour guides this question. They didnt really talk about the impact of the space program impacting the economy very much, nor did they have any exhibits on it.
