Also, to file a complaint against the employer it's with the Dept. of Fair Housing and Employment, the applications/ complaint forms are paper and sent to you through the mail, they require sending it back through the mail and they will review it within 90 days. It's crazy and sounds crazy but the time will go by fast. While things are fresh in your mind, start jotting down any incedences with approximate if not specific, dates, name people who may have witnesses or have knowledge of. The best is to request the paperwork as soon as possible, the time will go by very fast so don't think twice about it Cya, always says the best defense is having a good offense. A lot of times a court case will want to see that you are following the chain of command and if the situation could be resolved outside of court if you so made yourself willing to those options, just try to stay away from arbitration. Good Luck

You would file that in court but if you have membership at the law library, they have books on how to file. You can get the form from www.saclaw.ca.gov. i can help assist you as i have just finished law school and am going to take my Bar Exam next year.

There are a variety of paths to filing a claim or lawsuit for unlawful termination depending on the situation. If you believe your firing was due to discrimination, you may need to file a claim with the federal Equal Employment Opportunities Commission (https://www.eeoc.gov/employees/fepa.cfm) or the California Department of Employment and Housing (https://www.dfeh.ca.gov/complaint-process/) before filing a lawsuit. You can come in to the Law Library to research your options or contact an employment lawyer for more information.
