Yes, and I would believe so. There are tube rentals so you can float around on the river with the current carrying you, although these are optional, and you can simply swim in the river. Lasts around 2-3 hours. I believe there is a spring, although I haven't visited there.
Rainbow springs is divided into two areas, the state park and the Campground. The state park has the main spring and has a huge swimming area that is about 6 ft deep. The Campground has a small swimming area and the river where you can go tubing, kayak, fishing, canoeing and more. The tubing you have two options, a two hour lazy river and the tram brings you back for a daily fee, or you can park your car a few miles down and float for about 4 hours and drive back (this requires more people with a car with you to leave one behind on the parking lot of course)
yes you can swim. and yes it's a spring. very beautiful.
And please remember to get there early. Especially in a weekend. We made it to the spring at about 2 pm on a Sunday a few weeks back and waited for parking for 1.5 hours. Then 2 weeks ago we went tubing from the kphole area and we were there at 9:30 am. Last parking space. Our friend met us but was late by 10 am all parking was gone. The wait in line for the tube rental was over an hour as well. If you do tubing Is say bring your own tube and cash for the access so you can skip the line.
