You are not required to join in order to go in there. You can pay each time as you go. They do however have deal such as purchase x number amount of pass or yearly. Look out for their $30 for 30 days deal. Usually that follow by another promotion. You can join in person at the recreation center.
You can buy a membership at the RECenter, or you can pay for a single entry pass.
They are having a sale right now until February 14th.
