Any body of water in Florida has a good chance of gators, so be cautious. Places that that have more traffic and are frequently used by humans usually don't have large gators that are the ones you need to worry about. Small ones don't bother with larger animals. That being said, smaller animals and children should stay off of bodies of water unsupervised, especially early morning or evening/ night when gators are more active.
