YES U CAN SWIM. BEWARE OF SHARP OYSTER SHELLS and rocks ALONG THE SHORELINE. IF YOU GO INTO THE WATER MAKE SURE TO WEAR SOLID BOTTOM WADE SHOES.. as far as tree climbing and pictures just be safe and enjoy

Did O to above they area is considered an estuary so it's where the big fish come in and lay their baby fish button I have seen people mostly canoeing and surfing I'll knows big boards.... As for the shells yes indeed you do need shoes to go in there it's were a plan to take my granddaughter to teach her how to kayak
There is a little beach to the left of the boat docks which I have seen people sitting in their chairs fishing not sure about swimming
