My naturalization papers were destroyed in a fire. I was naturalized in 1960 in Miami (I believe) after we emigrated from Canada and I was 9 so was under my mother I believe, and cannot prove I am a citizen in order to receive a driver's license and register to vote in Florida. I moved from Alabama in March of this year. All legal proof of my citizenship was destroyed in aforementioned fire. I have voted since 1971, worked for the US Government (with a secret clearance) as an army civilian, and traveled on a US passport. I have a Social Security number and will produce it if necessary. I had hoped to get an appointment with this office to start the procedure on getting a new set of papers. Can you help me? Thank you

I am an immigration attorney. You should file a police report, just in case someone tries to use it for illegal purposes. In addition, go to uscis.org to look for the proper form to obtain a replacement certificate.
