It could be any number of things, but start by turning the unit off and checking the filter. If the inside coil is iced over, leave the unit off to thaw. If the filter is not clogged, leave the unit off and call for service

We just had our hvac replaced because we were having the same problem it could be a freon leak or lack of freon
