EFFECTIVE AUGUST 29, 2016 - THE CELL PHONE WAITING LOT HAS BEEN MOVED TO THE "G LOT" ADJACENT TO AIRPORT POLICE NEAR THE CONTROL TOWER. The "G" Lot is now the designated cell phone waiting area. Open 24/7, this lot is an area where drivers may wait in their vehicles for arriving passengers while they deplane, pick up luggage and walk out to the curb. To enter the G Lot, follow the road signs toward the terminals. Just before Terminal A, exit left into the Airport Police area. For visual reference, the control tower is adjacent to this area. When exiting the G Lot, navigate to the terminals or out of the airport by turning left onto International Circle. Then follow the signs to your desired terminal. G Lot Usage Regulations: Maximum wait time: 45 minutesNo unattended vehicles; Unattended vehicles will be towed at the owner's expense (City of Kansas City, MO, Ordinance Sec. 70-641)No commercial vehiclesNo public restrooms available in this lot
If you are waiting to pick someone up you will either have to circle through the lot or pay the parking fee and wait in the lots right by the terminal A, B, or C. The Kansas City International Airport does not have a cell phone lot like other airports. It's super easy to get through though. Nothing like a typical major city airport. Still a lot of "country" atmosphere there. LOL typically when I am being picked up or picking someone up, as long as the flight is on time, I pay the fee for 30-60 minutes at the terminal that they are flying into and I am able to get right in and right out. The parking spot is for when you are flying out and they store your vehicle while you are traveling.
No, I think you are looking for the cell phone parking lot
Sounds like you are asking about what is usually referred to as a cell phone lot. No, this is not the place and i do not think MCI has an official cell phone lot. When I'm picking someone up i usually just parking in the parking garage at the terminal. It's like $3 for the first 30 minutes or something.
Buses run constantly. Really no need to call. Just look for spotted buses
Is there a place where you can park and wait for someone coming in on a plane?
Not exactly. You pick up your bags and go to the pick up island. The buses circulate tje airport and pick you up. If you have been waiting more than a few minutes you call. They drop you off right at your car.
