I think you may be referring to the 90 day "discovery period" that is based on FL Statute- Chapter 627. The policy is bound and in force on the day it is submitted by your agent however the carrier, Universal, is permitted the 1st 90 days to review the risk and make sure it meets all binding qualifications (supporting documentation, the inspection results, etc.). Not having ample time to review these items would put all carriers in a vulnernable position which would not be good for the industry nor for Florida homeowners overall. I hope that helps!

Yes it is as far as I know. I have been stuck with this company. Unfortunately until the pay myn2 claims As soon as they've paid them I am gone. Horrible Policy, claims are a royal pain, i am still waiting for a claim that happened during hurricane Irma 4 years ago.
