I am my mother's caregiver and I wanted to know if I can get compensated for taking care of her. I had to stop working to take care of her and I'm not able to pay my bills.

Yes through the HCDA/CCDA * DCF programs or Long Term Care Medicaid Programs( AHCA) I would call the Area Agency on Aging for more information on those programs.

I can tell you...probably not! There are many resources out there but, pretty much to be absolutely fundamental.... Your mother took care of you for 18 or so years. So the biggest reward you wil get will be that of moral and spiritual riches. Im actually taking care of my mother inlaw without pay and I feel the burden you feel. Before getting overwhelmed try speaking to any extended family. If your mother and you are experiencing a massively hard time with bills, food, housing then you can apply for help. You may or may not get it. Im not a lawyer or an expert. I just notice that the poverty level in Florida is so bad that the homeless usually get first dibs. Sad but true.
