It all depends on your enthusiasm. I personally would like 2 days. One day for the bus tour alone, but you can zip through it in 3 hours. However, you can do the whole facility in 1 day if you time it just right but get there early and stay till closing time to get the full effect.
Thank you for all of your answers. The search results for this attraction indicate that people typically spend 15 minutes to 1 hour. Not sure how that gets corrected.
If you are at all interested in space, a day at least. The bus tours are perhaps the most interesting part, and they are the only way I know of to get to the Saturn V exhibit. The paid bus tours are very well worth the extra money, and anything but the 'explore' tour should be booked well in advance.
One full day for most people. Some leave after a few hours saying that there is nothing to do. Others need two days if they are already familiar with space history.

I highly recommend a full day. A lot to do very interactive and the place does not nickel-and-dime you. I was just there yesterday for all but one hour and it was perfect
Like everyone said, minimum full day. If you really like the NASA things, you can't even complete it in a day, this place is huge and lots of adventurous amusements. The most attractive one is the BUS Tour which will take you to the places and if you are lucky you might find alligators too. It's really worthy. Thank you.
If you are a fan of space exploration or old enough to remember the space race you will need a full day 9am to 6 pm, I had to do it over 2 days to get everything in, the time passes so quick. It's a fantastic place to visit !!
I would say the full day.. make sure you have the show times ahead so you can plan accordingly
You do need at least 6 hours, 8 ideally. Try to stay till the park closes as the Xmas lights look fantastic in the Rocket Garden and are well worth seeing (and photographing) at dusk.
A full day is required to see most of the KSC.
