Dogs are like people in the sense that they get hurt and get sick and they're not indestructible. Imagine your dog was a person. What would you do? We can't give you Veterinary advice especially without being able to see the injury. But I would suggest doing the same thing you'd do if your pup was a person. If it's not serious, try to treat it at home (but keep a close eye on it), if it is serious or starts to get worse or impact your dogs behavior, then I'd definitely take him to the vet.
Hi Jenner- It's quite possible that your poor dogs paw might get infected, however, just call the office and any one of the Qualified Staff will be more than happy to assist you further, they may suggest that he come in for a shot in case he's not up to date on all his shots, but no hun, he's not going to die. He's uncomfortable for sure, if he'll let you, try putting a little Bacitracin on a small gauze pad and put tape that paw up so as not to get infected. Best of Luck for a Speedy Recovery. 🐾 🐾 🐾 🐾
I agree with Sherry you can Call the clinic or pet hospital ask to speak with a vet and tell the vet the problem they will give you advice also i have done this in the past...
Is he bleeding? If so, did the bleeding stop? If it is the nail and quik was damaged, i would highly recommend you seeing a vet and have it looked at. Don't think it is life threatening but our fur babies can not tell us the pain they are in. Best of luck
