Yes. I prefer the bar orbthe bar tables if available but will always make a reservation, as the place is usually busy and if there is no seating at the bar I can always take the table. They never mind if you cancel on site because there are often people waiting
A reservation would be helpful even early evening. It also means that you are more likely to be seated upstairs which is less rowdy if that's what you are looking for.
At no point in the history of this bar would I have answered "no" to this question. There are no bad times to eat here.
